Welcome to the Official Website of the Chicopee-Aldenville
 American Legion Baseball Program

Chicopee American Legion Baseball will undergo drastic changes for the upcoming 2010 season.  Chicopee Center Post 452 and Aldenville Post 337 will be consolidating programs and field one "Senior" team.  This team will now be sponsored collectively by both legions.  An additional "Junior" team (17 years and younger) will be formed to compete against other "Junior" teams in Northern Connecticut and Eastern Massachusetts.

Let us first give a heart-felt thank you to Chuck Hoffner for his years of hard work and dedication to American Legion Baseball.  Chuck, longtime manager of the Chicopee Center Post 452 team, has opted to retire from the program.  Good luck Chuck in your future endeavors.

Please feel free to contact us with your comments, suggestions, or to schedule an "out of district" game for the 2010 season. THANKS AGAIN and please visit us often.

  East Springfield 12, Chicopee-Aldenville 10

Chicopee-Aldenville was knocked out of the sectional tournament by East Springfield Post 420 on Monday night July 19th.  After falling behind and in jeopardy of being mercy ruled Chicopee-Aldenville chipped their way backed before falling 12-10.

Dan Asselin, Marcus MacDonald, and Ricci Sergienko led the Chicopee-Aldenville team and will be sorely missed as they have completed their final year of American Legion baseball elligibility.  The coaching staff, members of Aldenville Post 337 & Chicopee Center Post 452, and everyone involved with Chicopee-Aldenville baseball would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication over the past few years.

Please check back frequently for updates regarding our Junior American Legion team that will be competing in the Massachusetts Junior American Legion State Tournament from July 30th - August 2nd in Acushnet, Massachusetts.

FIRECRACKER LEGION BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

The Chicopee-Aldenville "Senior" and "Junior" American Legion baseball teams competed at the Fircracker Invitational Tournament against some of the best baseball programs in the Northeast.  The "Senior" team finished the round-robin portion as the 8th seed of the eighteen (18) tournament teams and advanced to the playoffs.  In the quarterfinal game Chicopee-Aldenville was matched against the top seed and highest scoring team in the tournament, Team Cape Cod.  Chicopee-Aldenville advanced to the semi-finals with a 9-2 victory.  In the semi-final game Chicopee-Aldenville could not keep pace with Bordentown, NJ and fell 10-8.

The "Junior" team was equally impressive by advancing past the round-robin portion and into the semi-final round of the playoffs.  The entire team swung hot bats throughout the tournament and was matched against top seeded Shrub Oaks, NY in the semi-finals.  Chicopee-Aldenville played a solid game but could not keep pace on offense and fell 10-3.

Congratulations to both teams for representing the Chicopee Center Post 452 American Legion, Aldenville Post 337 American Legion, and the City of Chicopee in such fine fashion with great baseball and sportsmanship.
