2010 will be the inaugural year for Junior American Legion Baseball in western Massachusetts. Chicopee-Aldenville is the first (and only) program to enroll a "Junior" team in western Massachusetts and will compete against teams from the eastern part of the state and northern Connecticut. We will also be traveling to Providence, RI to compete against other junior legion and AAU programs from throughout the east coast. This four day round-robin tournament will take place July 1st - July 4th and will feature teams such as the Brooklyn Bombers and New England Ruffnecks. Many college and professional scouts are known to make an appearance throught the weekend.
Please feel free to contact us with your comments, suggestions, or to schedule an "out of district" game for the 2010 season. THANKS AGAIN and please visit us often.
2010 JR LEGION STATE TOURNAMENT
The Chicopee-Aldenville Jr. legion team competed in the Jr. American Legion State Tournament in Acushnet, MA from July 30th - August 1st. By droping their second game of the tournament to North Attleboro Post 49 Chicopee-Aldenville fell into the losers bracket of the double elimination tournament. While in the losers bracket the Chicopee-Aldenville offense came alive and they mercy ruled their next two opponents to make it to the championship round against undefeated Taunton Post 103. After leading 4-1 after five (5) innings Chicopee-Aldenville saw their State Championship hope fade away as Taunton scored a 7-5 victory and take the title.
Fortunately for the Chicopee-Aldenville team the Northeast Regional Tournament will have the Massachusetts State Champion and the Runner-up competing at Gill Stadium in Manchester NH against State Champions from New Jersey, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Runner-up will also be competing in the eight (8) team single elimination tourmanent. Check out the results at:
